F.A.Q.

  •  Is there a down payment that must be made before you start working on my track?
You can pay in-full up front or in many case you may provide a deposit of 50% at minimum once a price and terms are agreed upon. This allows me to reserve time in my schedule to dedicate to working on your track. I typically will create an invoice, but you can also pay here: http://www.myminstrel.com/payment
  • How do custom tracks work?
Once a deposit is received an a development schedule is agreed upon, I try to follow this basic process when doing custom tracks.
    1. We will agree on the format/style of the song to use as a starting point (e.g. refer to a YouTube video, CD recording, or you can send an audio recording).
    2. I will send you a lyric sheet based on the recorded version used as a starting point. You can respond with any general changes to the sequence.
    3. I will compose a simple musical arrangement (basic chords).
    4. We will agree on the arrangement (chord progression, style, etc) and repeat 2 through 3 if necessary
    5. I will add all instrumentation and send a draft.
    6. Final balance will be due at this time. Final changes will be made to individual parts and final will be sent.
  • What pre-done tracks do you already have?
The best place to look are the samples I have here. You can also see a list of pre-done tracks that I have for purchase.
  • What instruments are typically included?
5 Included instruments (2 lead instruments, bass guitar or equivalent, drum set, & percussion).
  • What is the percussion you are referring to?
Percussion refers to rhythm instruments not included on standard drum set. E.g. a song that has a Latin feel often includes wood block, congas/bongos, cow bells, shakers etc.

  1. I am looking for tracks that have the guitar, bass, and drum set EXCLUDED. We have a guitarist, bassist and drummer, but not keyboard. horns, percussions.

What would the cost be for a track with those instruments (guitar, bass, drum)removed?

    1. Adrienne,

Thanks for your interest and your question, typically I will start with a base rate for custom tracks and the price can go down or up depending on the number of instruments. I will be sending you more details directly via email.
